One of the most exciting and life-changing things we offer through VBJI is our jail-based programming. Human trafficking victims often go unidentified or misidentified as they cycle in and out of jail on charges of prostitution, probation violations or other crimes directly associated with their abuse. It's in these classes that many of our clients realize, for the first time, that they have been victimized.
This multi-session course provides both a classroom to educate and a support group where victims can begin to heal. Our jail instructors are trained victim advocates, who use our proprietary curriculum to open the eyes of trafficking survivors, helping them to believe they have value and equipping them to choose a new path forward. We are honored to provide both the emotional support and practical resources our clients need to make a fresh start. If you are interested in becoming a Jail Instructor or bringing this program to your facility, please contact us. This project is financially assisted by a generous grant from the Virginia Law Foundation. The Virginia Law Foundation promotes through philanthropy the rule of law, access to justice and law-related education. |
